About The Position

The Infusion Registered Nurse delivers nursing care to patients by assessing their status, implementing clinical interventions, developing and carrying out care plans, and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment. The role requires strong organizational and leadership skills and a broad medical skillset. The nurse supports patients’ physiologic, psychological, and psychosocial stability across the lifespan, and helps foster educational growth opportunities for nursing peers.

This position is in the Neurology physician practice. The scheduled workweek is 40 hours, with a day shift.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited associate degree or bachelor’s degree program in Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS Basic Life Support certification is required before direct patient care; ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support is acceptable in lieu of BLS.
• ONS Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Certification required within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year of medical/surgical or oncology experience (preferred, not required).
• EPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred, not required).
• BLS certification preferred upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and analyze initial and ongoing patient assessments; create plans of care, implement treatments, and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
• Restore, support, promote, rehabilitate, or palliate to maintain patients’ physiologic, psychological, and psychosocial stability across the lifespan.
• Administer chemotherapy and other medications; start IVs; transfuse blood and blood products; and perform therapeutic phlebotomies.
• Anticipate and respond confidently to changing patient conditions, adapting to rapid changes as needed.
• Help create an environment that promotes educational growth opportunities for nursing peers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
