Effective communication, conflict resolution, and appropriate delegation to other nursing staff are essential. The role also requires a commitment to professional development, adherence to ethical standards, and accurate electronic health record (EHR) documentation. RNs may be required to float to other units or facilities to meet patient care needs and must demonstrate age-specific competency in providing care.
