About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN II) – Progressive Care Unit - Full Time Days. This position delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessing the patient, planning the care of the patient, intervening as appropriate, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. The role incorporates age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care, initiates action to meet patient and/or significant other's need for information, and maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out-of-hospital transfers. The role is cardiac-focused and involves the management of various cardiac drips.

Requirements

Nursing Diploma required
Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
One-year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program required
RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator, and coordinator for quality patient care
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
One-year strong Medical Telemetry experience in an Acute Care setting strongly preferred
