About The Position

Wilson Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their 18-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ICU is staffed with Registered Nurses (RNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and operates with a 1:2/3 nurse to patient ratio. Patients treated in this unit include those requiring vents, continuous BiPAP, vasopressor drips, DKA on insulin drips, ETOH on CIWA, and a mix of intermediate care. This role offers the opportunity to work in a newly opened, spacious, and bright unit with approachable staff physicians. The unit strives for quality patient care, and staff are encouraged to share their knowledge.

Requirements

• Current state RN license
• Degree from an accredited nursing school
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years of Med/Surg experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
