Registered Nurse RN - ICU
About The Position
This full-time Registered Nurse position is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL. The role involves delivering safe patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care within their scope of practice, guides patient/family teaching, and directs other nursing personnel while upholding ICU standards. Key responsibilities include being directly accountable for assigned patient care, communicating with physicians about changes in patient clinical condition (including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptomatology), responding quickly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment response, and maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire
- Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital
Nice To Haves
- Completion of Critical Care Course preferred
- Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- One year of critical care experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
- Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice
- Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU
- Directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients
- Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology
- Able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment
- Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality
