About The Position

Wilson Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on a PRN basis. This role is in-person and offers the opportunity to work in a newly opened, spacious, and bright 18-bed ICU. The unit operates with a 1:2/3 nurse to patient ratio and treats patients requiring advanced care, including those on vents, continuous BiPAP, vasopressor drips, DKA on insulin drips, and ETOH on CIWA, along with a mix of intermediate care patients. Staff physicians are approachable, and the unit encourages sharing knowledge to strive for quality patient care.

Requirements

• Current state RN license
• Degree from an accredited nursing school
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years of Med/Surg experience preferred
• Compassionate nurse with a deep understanding of critical care principles and advanced patient monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
