Registered Nurse (RN) Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital
About The Position
The Community Hospice has a rewarding opportunity for a per diem RN to work as a part of our Hospice Team at the Hospice Inpatient unit (HIPU) located on the 5th Floor at St. Peter’s Hospital. This position is unique in providing an opportunity to have a tremendous impact on patient and family quality of life at a crucial time. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with a team (our teams include patient care techs, medical directors with specialized expertise in end of life care, social workers, chaplains, complementary therapists and volunteers).
Requirements
- NYS RN Licensure
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- 1-2 years recent acute care experience
- Excellent communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and peers.
- Strong computer skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Nice To Haves
- Hospice experience highly preferable
Responsibilities
- Works as a staff RN on the Hospice Inn unit
- Coordinate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive plan of care to provide added support to patients and families.
