About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) at the UVA Health Heart Clinic, located at the UVA Health Heart and Vascular Center - Fontaine. The position requires a capable clinician focused on expanding knowledge and skills, who consistently provides effective direct care as part of an interdisciplinary team to a variety of complex patients. The nurse will manage care and implement treatment plans at a refined skill level in collaboration with patients, their families, physicians, and other members of the health care team. The role involves seeking and providing feedback for improved clinical practice and assuming a beginning leadership role with mentoring. This job description integrates the AAACN Scope and Standards of Practice for Professional Ambulatory Care Nursing, the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements, with the UVA Nursing Professional Practice Model. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
  • 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
