Where You Will Work: Patient Population: Adult patients in the outpatient and inpatient setting. The team supports a wide range of Endoscopic procedures including preventative screening and diagnostic colonoscopies, EGDs, ERCP, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), and bronchoscopies. Culture: Collaborative, friendly, caring, and supportive Skill Mix: Experienced nurses and GI Technicians Schedule: Monday - Friday, 0730-1800. (4) 10-hour shifts per week. Start and end times may flex based on department needs. On-Call Requirements: call in once every 10th weekend and (2) weeknights per month

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • 1-2 Years of Med/Surg, ICU, ED or 1 year perioperative nursing experience. Nurse Extern time excluded from Nursing experience.
  • ACLS is required by completion of orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • Cross-training required in pre/post care, Same Day Surgery, and Pain Management.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized care using the nursing process—assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
  • Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, mobilizing resources and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Promote patient safety by implementing risk-reduction strategies and reporting safety events promptly.
  • Educate patients and families, adapting teaching methods to meet unique learning needs and supporting readiness for discharge.
  • Coordinate care and discharge planning through an interdisciplinary approach, ensuring continuity across the healthcare continuum.
  • Lead and delegate effectively, fostering teamwork and supporting unlicensed personnel.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and unit performance.
