About The Position
At Johnson Memorial Hospital, the Registered Nurses (RN) in the Geriatric Wellness unit specialize in mental health care to elderly patients experiencing psychiatric conditions such as depression, anxiety, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease. This role involves direct patient care, emotional support, medication administration, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic and compassionate treatment.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school
- Valid RN License in Connecticut
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- One or more years of Psychiatric or Geriatric experience in an acute inpatient setting.
- BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
Responsibilities
- Conduct mental health assessments and monitor psychiatric symptoms in elderly patients.
- Work closely with all physicians, psychiatrists, social workers, and therapists to develop and implement individualized care plans.
