About The Position

Inova Franconia-Springfield Healthplex, Emergency Room is seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN to join their Emergency Dept. This is a PRN, As Needed position with varying shifts. During orientation, the nurse will rotate through all shifts (Days, Mids, and Nights). This Free-Standing Emergency Unit services the local community and offers 24-hour lab testing and radiology including X-ray, CT scan and ultrasound. It features a 4-5:1 patient to nurse ratio, emergency nurses certified in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), ventilator trained nursing and EMT staff, and board-certified emergency physicians. The unit provides a supportive team environment with opportunities for advancement, is a stroke certified parent hospital, and promotes nurse autonomy.

Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.
  • BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
  • Must be RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.
  • BLS from American Heart Association
  • Proficient in English.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others.
  • Proficient computer skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Strongly prefer 2 year plus of ED RN experience.
  • CEN/ACLS certification desired
