Registered Nurse (RN) Freestanding Emergency Room
About The Position
Inova Cornwall Campus & Inova Ashburn Campus- Freestanding Emergency Department is seeking an experienced ED Nurse. This is a Full-Time position with a Mid Shift (3pm-3am) and rotating weekends. The role is eligible for a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for qualified candidates. Inova Cornwall- ED offers a fun and autonomous work environment with a 3-4:1 patient to nurse ratio, handling 35-50 patients daily with approximately 20% pediatric patients. The nursing staff is ventilator and ABG trained, and the department fosters a supportive team environment with opportunities for advancement. It is an Acute Stroke Ready ED with patient satisfaction scores in the 99th percentile and a 12.5% admission rate. The department offers flexible self-scheduling and team nursing.
Requirements
- 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
- BSN or AD. If RN has an AD, within 2 years from date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1.) Identify which accredited school they plan to attend 2.) Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date 3.) Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses 4.) Complete BSN within 5 years of start date
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license
- BLS from the American Heart Association
- For Critical Care units, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support within 6 months of hire
- For Pediatric units, Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire
Nice To Haves
- Two (2) plus years Emergency Department (ED) as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others.
- Proficient computer skills required
Responsibilities
- Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team.
- Conduct all patient care in a patient and family-centered manner.
- Use an integrated approach toward patient outcomes.
- Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
