About The Position

Nashville General Hospital is hiring for a full-time, Night shift Registered Nurse (RN) for our Forensic Unit in Nashville, TN. This is an 18-bed unit with a 4:1 patient ratio.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree, Diploma or Baccalaureate Degree program in Nursing preferred.
Possess a current licensure or permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or compact state.
BLS required, ACLS preferred.
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development necessary for assessment, range of treatment and care of forensic patients ranging from adult through geriatrics.
Knowledge of hospital and department policies and procedures, patient care procedures, and the ability to operate technical equipment as acquired through orientation.

Nice To Haves

A working knowledge of TN Department of Corrections and Davidson County Sheriff’s Office policy and procedures when interacting with forensic patients preferred.

Responsibilities

Administering medication and treatments
Admitting and assessing patients
Monitoring vital signs and symptoms
Running and ordering tests
Coordinating care with Physicians and Specialists
Charting Patient Progress
