About The Position
QSAC is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to support children with autism in our preschool program located in Little Neck, NY. This role involves overseeing the general health and well-being of students, administering care, maintaining records, and collaborating with parents and professionals to ensure optimal medical treatments. The position follows a school calendar and includes summer sessions.
Requirements
- Vaccination required.
- 1-2 years RN highly preferred. School nurse experience a plus
- Valid NYS RN license in good standing required.

Responsibilities
- Oversee general health issues for students with autism in the schools.
- Ensure health, safety & welfare of students.
- Administer First Aid & Emergency interventions as needed (i.e. Epi-pen, Asthma pump, etc.).
- Evaluate student illness to determine appropriate action (i.e. parent pick-up, rest).
- Evaluate emergency situations to determine need for EMS.
- May administer medication for some students in preschool under specified circumstances.
- Appropriately document all interactions in student files & Medication log.
- Maintain participant/family confidentiality.
- Assist in tracking and obtaining annual medical and immunization records.
- Maintain confidential medical records.
- Supervise students waiting for parent pick-up.
- Consult with parents and/or healthcare professionals to ensure optimal medical treatments are provided to children being supported.
- Maintain medical/health related supply inventory.
- Attends internal team meetings as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or senior management.
