Registered Nurse RN - Float Pool
About The Position
M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital, located in Burnsville MN, is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Float Pool! This is a great opportunity for an RN to gain experience working with a wide variety of patients in our Float Pool and be a part of an award-winning, caring, and committed staff in delivering patient and family-centered care. Float Pool RN’s at Fairview Ridges will support various units such as; medical, surgical, cardiac, oncology, orthopedics/spine, and observation. This position is 60 hours in two weeks or a 0.75 FTE, night shift (7pm-7:30am), 12-hour shifts, working every third weekend.
Requirements
- MN RN licensure by start date
- BLS for health care providers
- Telemetry competency required within 90 days of hire.
- Required to validate competency and carry a typical patient care assignment in at least one of the following two clusters: Adult Medicine (competency within 6 months in Med/Surg (3rd , 5th and 6th floors), Critical Care Unit (Medical overflow /telemetry patients), and the Observation unit
Nice To Haves
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- Minimum of 1 year medical/surgical hospital nursing experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
- Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care.
- Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs.
- Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.
- Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care.
- Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
- Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP).
