About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Health System, Idaho's only hospital system recognized by Forbes as one of America's Best Large Employers for 2025, is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Clinical Support Team (Float Pool). This role offers variety in work, opportunities to grow in clinical practice, and the chance to build meaningful relationships across teams and specialties. As a member of our Clinical Support Team (Float Pool), you'll gain valuable experience across multiple inpatient specialties and care settings while practicing at both our Level II Trauma Center in Boise and Level III Trauma Center in Nampa. You'll care for a diverse patient population, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the organization, and build a broad foundation of clinical experience that will continue to strengthen your practice throughout your career. In Boise, you'll support teams in Trauma Medical-Surgical, Trauma General Surgery, Ortho Joint & Trauma, Medical Oncology, Orthopedic Medical-Surgical, and Telemetry. In Nampa, you'll have opportunities to care for patients in the Cardiac Medical Unit, Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical units. Requirements

  • You currently hold an Idaho or multistate RN license
  • If you have a multistate license you would need to establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 6 months of hire
  • You have your Basic Life Support
  • You are willing to obtain your Advance Cardiovascular Life Support for HealthCare Provider (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care while serving as an advocate for both patients and families.
  • Expand your clinical expertise by caring for a diverse patient population across multiple specialties and units.
  • Perform comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments to guide individualized patient care.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate care plans that promote exceptional outcomes and patient-centered care.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient progress and responding to changing needs.
  • Educate patients and families to support recovery, wellness, and successful transitions of care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and fellow caregivers to deliver coordinated care.
  • Communicate patient status and care plans effectively through both verbal handoffs and clinical documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Utilize clinical equipment and technology safely and effectively to support patient care.
  • Practice within Idaho State Board of Nursing standards while upholding hospital policies and best practices.
