About The Position

Watertown Regional Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Float Pool team. This position is ideal for new graduates and offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus. The float pool nurse will be responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care based on established clinical nursing practice standards. They will collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achieve desired patient outcomes. This role requires obtaining and maintaining competencies in med/surg, med/tel, ICU, ED, and postpartum/newborn care, and the ability to assist in any department or area of need. Requirements

Licensure in the practicing state as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
Proficient with computer systems.
Oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care based on established clinical nursing practice standards.
Collaborates with other professional disciplines throughout the organization to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
Obtains and maintains competencies in med/surg, med/tel, ICU, ED, and postpartum/newborn care.
Accepts assignments to any area in which competencies are documented and is able to assist with nursing function in any department or area of need.
Practices nursing as described by the definition: “The diagnosis and treatment of human responses to actual or potential health alterations.”
Utilizes the nursing process in the provision of nursing care including administering treatments and medications, interpreting diagnostic tests, formulating a plan of care, collaborating with other health care providers, and providing education to patients and/or significant others.
Collects patient health data, determining the priority of data collection based on the patient’s immediate condition or needs.
Collects pertinent data using appropriate assessment techniques.
Involves the patient, significant others, and health care providers in data collection when appropriate.
Ensures that the data collection process is systematic and ongoing.
Documents relevant data in the medical record according to hospital standards.
Analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnoses/patient problems.
Derives diagnoses/patient problems from the assessment data and validates them with the patient, significant other, and health care providers, when possible.
Documents diagnoses/patient problems in a manner that facilitates the determination of expected outcomes and plan.
Identifies expected outcomes individualized to the patient, derives them from the diagnoses/patient problems, and documents them as measurable goals.
Formulates outcomes mutually with the patient and health care providers, when possible, ensuring they are realistic, attainable, include a time estimate, and provide direction for continuity of care.
Anticipates potential problem situations and intervenes to offset any adverse impact.
Develops a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes, individualizing it to the patient’s condition or need.
Develops the plan with the patient, significant others, and health care providers, when appropriate, ensuring it reflects current nursing practice and provides continuity of care.
Documents the plan of care.
Implements the interventions identified in the plan of care, ensuring they are consistent, safe, and appropriate.
Documents interventions.
Evaluates the patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes, ensuring evaluation is systematic and ongoing.

Utilizes ongoing assessment data to revise diagnoses/patient problems, outcomes, and the plan of care, as needed, and documents these revisions.
Involves the patient, significant others, and health care providers in the evaluation process, when appropriate.
Participates in quality-of-care activities, including identification of aspects of care for quality monitoring, indicators for monitoring quality and effectiveness, data collection, analysis of quality data, formulation of recommendations, and implementation of activities to enhance the quality of nursing practice.
Utilizes the results of quality-of-care activities to initiate changes in practice.
