For pre- and post-op care, the patient ratio is typically 1 to 4, while circulators and techs work in a 1:1 capacity with their patients. The Endoscopy unit features 4 procedure rooms and 7 pre/post-op bays, while RMC Endoscopy offers 2 procedure rooms alongside 7 pre/post-op bays. The Endoscopy unit cares for adult inpatients and outpatients, performing a wide range of procedures such as EGD’s, colonoscopies, PEG tube insertions, bronchoscopies, ERCP, fibroscans, and gastric manometry. At RMC Endoscopy, the focus is on providing care to adult outpatients, with procedures including EGD’s and colonoscopies.

Requirements

  • Current state RN license
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience preferred
  • ASLS certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs accurate and thorough patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Initiates appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings
  • Provides age- and condition-appropriate nursing care
  • Completes timely and accurate documentation supporting medical necessity in the medical record
  • Develops, implements, and revises interdisciplinary care plans for each patient
