More about our team Join our Endoscopy team and make a difference throughout every step of the patient experience. As an Endoscopy RN, you'll provide compassionate, high-quality care by preparing patients for procedures, obtaining vital signs, starting IVs, reviewing medications, and ensuring patients feel informed and comfortable before their procedure. You'll play a key role during procedures by assisting the care team, supporting anesthesia, documenting care, and ensuring patient safety protocols are followed. Following the procedure, you'll guide patients through recovery, provide discharge education, and help set them up for success at home. At WVMC, you'll work alongside a collaborative multidisciplinary team in a supportive environment that encourages professional growth while making a meaningful impact on the patients and community we serve.

Requirements

• Current state or compact state RN license
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school
• BLS / ACLS certifications
• Previous Endoscopy Experience Required
• Must have a current state or compact state RN license.
• Associate's degree required.

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties as assigned and requested.
• Completes focused patient assessments and reassessments based on patient’s condition, procedures, medications, and treatments.
• Adequately assesses and reassesses pain; utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
• Provides patient care and communicates effectively with patients of all ages and with specific needs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications and ensures correct administration following the six rights to minimize medication errors.
• Assists physicians with procedures and provides services requiring technical and manual skills.
• Performs treatments and delivers care within licensure scope.
• Ensures patient safety by performing all aspects of care in an environment that reduces the likelihood of errors.
• Operates and manages equipment safely and correctly.
• Educates patients and families on disease processes and recovery expectations.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
