More about our team The Endoscopy Department at North Alabama Medical Center provides high-quality, patient-centered diagnostic and therapeutic services in a safe and compassionate environment. The team of experienced physicians, nurses, and support staff uses advanced technology to perform a wide range of procedure including screening, diagnostic, interventional endoscopy gastrointestinal and lung procedures. With a strong focus on patient comfort, safety, and timely care, the department plays a vital role in early detection, treatment, and ongoing management of digestive health conditions.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in nursing required; bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
  • Nursing License
  • BCLS and ACLS are required
  • PALS, and Handle with Care preferred; must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Some Endoscopy experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
  • Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
