About The Position

Beverly Hospital is located in Beverly, MA, a charming community northeast of Boston. The Emergency Department is a Level III Trauma Center, Gold Stroke Certified, and an Emergent Percutaneous Cardiac Intervention Center, serving as the primary point of entry for these services. The department is staffed 24/7 with Emergency Medicine Board Certified Physicians and Mid-Level Clinicians, and a Children’s Hospital Emergency Physician during prime hours. It features 33 private exam rooms across 3 zones, including major trauma rooms, negative pressure rooms, pediatric rooms, a fast-track area, and a 10-bed secured behavioral health area. The department handles various emergencies such as cardiac, pediatric, OBGYN, orthopedic, and respiratory. Security is present in the waiting area. A 3-room Triage is staffed 24/7 by a nurse and a Medical Provider during prime hours, used for rapid interventions, vertical flow/one-touch patients, and rapid medical screenings. Triage nurses assign acuity levels based on ESI. Ancillary staff include ED Technicians, Administrative Associates, Mental Health Technicians, and Security. Support for behavioral health emergencies is provided by BILH Crisis Screeners and Recovery Coach Supports.

Requirements

• Emergency Nursing experience strongly preferred
• MA RN license
• (AHA) BLS
• (AHA) ACLS can be obtained after hire
• PALS can be obtained after hire
• TNCC preferred can be obtained after hire
• Telemetry experience preferred
• BSN preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of entry for patients accessing emergency services.
• Provide specialized care within the department's zones.
• Manage cardiac, pediatric, OBGYN, orthopedic, and respiratory emergencies.
• Staff the 3-room Triage area 24/7, utilizing it for rapid interventions, vertical flow/one-touch patients, and rapid medical screenings.
• Assign triage acuity level for each ambulatory patient based on ESI.
