About The Position

In the Emergency Department (ED) at Saint Mary’s Hospital, the Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in delivering care to emergent and critical patients. The position involves didactic learning sessions to enhance understanding of Emergency Department (ED) nursing, utilizing a state-of-the-art simulation lab. The role requires applying critical thinking skills to manage high-acuity and complex patients effectively. There are opportunities for professional growth in a Level 2 Trauma Center, including pursuing certification as a trauma nurse.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing.
  • Valid RN license in Connecticut.
  • One or more years of Emergency Room nursing experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one year of acute inpatient nursing experience (considered for training).
  • BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
  • ACLS and TNCC certification (support available post-hire).
