This is a part-time PRN position in the Emergency Department at Atrium Health Lake Norman. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The position requires continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, safe administration of medications and treatments, effective communication, and a commitment to professional development. Ethical decision-making, respect for interdisciplinary roles, and appropriate delegation are also essential. Accurate and timely EHR documentation is required. The nurse may be required to float to other units or facilities to meet patient care needs and must demonstrate knowledge of age-specific care. This role requires the ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including understanding the principles of growth and development over the life span and assessing data reflective of the patient's status.
