About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department. This is a temporary position with a 13-week assignment, offering a 3x12s Day Shift (7a-7p) schedule. The Emergency Department is a 14-bed unit with a 5:1 patient ratio, staffed by RNs, CNAs, Paramedics, Secretaries, and Providers, fostering a collaborative environment. The department handles a variety of patient needs, including abdominal pain and shortness of breath, and is proud of its chest pain accreditation. With an average daily volume of 50-70 patients, this role offers the chance to contribute to high-quality emergency medical care in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements

  • Current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire
  • AHA ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

Responsibilities

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
  • Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
