This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in the Emergency Department. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout their care continuum. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The position requires continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, with appropriate action taken as needed. Responsibilities also include administering medications and treatments, demonstrating effective communication and conflict resolution, fostering team collaboration, and pursuing professional development. Adherence to ethical practices, respect for interdisciplinary roles, and appropriate delegation are essential. Accurate and timely EHR documentation is required. The role may involve floating to other units to meet patient care needs and requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care, understanding growth and development across the lifespan. Physical Abilities Testing may be required, and additional department-specific physical requirements may be identified.
