The Electrophysiology Technologist will perform specialized roles within the invasive cardiovascular procedure setting. They operate specific high technology equipment and utilizes products under the direction of a qualified physician to assist with multispecialty cardiovascular procedures performed. This role involves performing and supporting image acquisition, image processing, physiologic and/or hemodynamic data acquisition, and simple electrophysiology (EP) or 3D mapping during invasive procedures, while also assisting nurses with patient management. The technologist will assist the physician operator and invasive team before, during, and after invasive procedures, providing appropriate care to patients consistent with their level of training. Activities to support the service and/or departmental operation, serving, managing, and supporting internal and external customers are also key functions. Participation in performance improvement activities, maintaining the laboratory and/or operating room and equipment, managing supplies using first in, first out (FIFO), and supporting accurate billing for procedures performed are also part of the role.
