About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive care in a detox and addiction recovery setting. The ideal candidate will have strong Med-Surg and behavioral health experience, with the ability to assess, monitor, and manage patients undergoing withdrawal while ensuring high standards of care and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
- Minimum 2+ years of experience required
- Med-Surg experience required
- Psych/Behavioral Health experience required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Active RN license (New York State)
- BLS Certification required
- CPI Certification required
- Successful completion of medication competency exam
Nice To Haves
- Experience in detox, addiction recovery, or rehab settings
- Strong assessment and crisis management skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Responsibilities
- Perform physical and mental health assessments, including vital signs, risk, and withdrawal assessments (e.g., COWS)
- Administer and monitor medications and treatment plans
- Observe and report behavioral and clinical changes
- Maintain control and accountability of medications and substances
- Triage and respond to emergent patient conditions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, NPs, PAs, and nursing staff
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and documentation requirements
- Provide culturally sensitive and patient-centered care
