About The Position

Christiana Hospital is seeking a highly competent, experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse with specialized Open Heart (CVOR) experience to join our distinguished cardiovascular surgical team. Requirements

  • Current RN licensure required
  • Three years or more Operating Room experience required
  • Two-Three years of Open-Heart Team circulating and scrubbing experience

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred or Commitment to obtaining within three years of date of hire can be considered with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled, evidence-based intraoperative nursing care for complex open‑heart surgical procedures
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons and surgical teams to facilitate safe, efficient operations
  • Ensure adherence to sterile technique, clinical standards, and best practices in cardiac surgery
  • Support patients and their families with professionalism, compassion, and clear communication
  • Participate in scheduled Open-Heart Call and demonstrate flexibility to support Mid shifts as needed
