This role provides direct patient care to medical/surgical/cardiovascular patients needing advanced monitoring. The nurse is required to operate advanced medical equipment including use of central lines, A-lines, multiple IVs, balloon pumps, Impella pumps, and care for patients requiring Ventilation Support, or Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy. Additionally, the role involves caring for general medical and surgical patients on the in-patient unit. The nurse must have the ability to assess and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision. The role also acts as a clinical leader and assists with precepting staff. The nurse provides direct care for patients in the Hospital from admission to discharge in all aspects of care including discharge planning. The nurse gives direction to RN, LPN, CNA, Housekeeping Staff, and Dietary Staff. The nurse receives direction from Providers, Charge Nurse, Supervisor, and Chief Nursing Officer.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN Degree Nursing Program, required
  • Practice in an advanced Medical/Surgical Unit and recent Critical Care Nursing including cardiovascular surgery, required
  • Current State of Montana RN Licensure
  • BLS, ACLS required
  • Advanced Nursing Principles and Procedures.
  • Use of basic office equipment
  • Use of multiple IV pumps
  • Ability to operate advanced medical equipment, including A-lines, Invasive lines, cardiac balloon pumps, Chest tubes, patients requiring Ventilatory Support and those on CRRT.

Nice To Haves

  • Impella and/or other cardiac balloon pumps and CRRT experience, preferred
  • 1-2 years of Cardiac Surgical ICU experience strongly preferred
  • Complete PALS courses within 6 months of hire and renewal as required.
  • EPNC, TNCC certification preferred.
