About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Health System is looking for a Registered Nurse to join their Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) team at their Level II Trauma Center in Boise, Idaho. The role involves collaborating with surgeons performing advanced surgeries and procedures, contributing to a growing program, and working with advanced devices and equipment. The unit is a pathway-driven post-surgical unit that blends structured care with autonomy. The CVICU is a 10-bed unit specializing in major cardiac surgeries and complex cardiovascular conditions, caring for patients recovering from procedures like coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), heart valve surgery, and aortic surgery. The role requires delivering specialized care with expertise, compassion, and a commitment to patient-centered approaches, administering medications, performing essential procedures, providing patient education, documenting assessments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. The position is part of a tight-knit team with strong leadership and opportunities for professional growth.

Requirements

  • Idaho or multistate RN license (must establish Idaho residency within 6 months if applicable).
  • BLS certification at hire.
  • ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Care for patients recovering from intricate cardiac procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), heart valve surgery, and aortic surgery.
  • Deliver specialized care with expertise, compassion, and a commitment to patient-centered approaches in a state-of-the-art intensive care unit.
  • Administer medications and perform essential procedures to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide patient education and support to enhance health and wellness.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure a smooth transition for patients.
