This position will be located at our Regional Medical Center off I-184 and Curtis Rd. Floats to MICU, CICU, CVICU, Neuro Surgical Trauma ICU, and the Emergency Department in this facility only. Enjoy the flexibility and excitement of floating between multiple high-acuity units, including the MICU, CICU, CVICU, Neuro Surgical Trauma ICU, and the Emergency Department. Become a key player in managing the highest acuity cases in the region, treating patients with a wide range of complex needs, from neuro and cardiac care to surgical and trauma. As a float nurse, you’ll thrive in an environment that empowers you to work independently and autonomously. Rely on your critical thinking skills and clinical expertise to make split-second decisions in high-stakes situations, demonstrating both your competence and confidence in caring for patients. Specialty device training includes continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), and impella/Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) if eligible. ED-specific training is also incorporated.

Requirements

  • Idaho or multistate RN license (must establish Idaho residency within 6 months if applicable).
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, and TNCC must be obtained within a designated timeframe.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a Level II Trauma Center and Level I Comprehensive Stroke Center.
  • Experience with continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
  • Experience with intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP).
  • Experience with impella/Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO).

Responsibilities

  • Float to MICU, CICU, CVICU, Neuro Surgical Trauma ICU, and the Emergency Department within the facility.
  • Provide care for critically ill patients.
  • Stabilize conditions and implement complex treatment plans.
  • Manage high acuity cases.
  • Treat patients with a wide range of complex needs, including neuro, cardiac, surgical, and trauma.
  • Work independently and autonomously.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills and clinical expertise to make split-second decisions.
  • Receive specialty device training including CRRT, IABP, and impella/ECMO if eligible.
  • Incorporate ED-specific training.
