About The Position

As the Chemotherapy Nurse this nurse provides direct and indirect patient services to Chemotherapy patients. He/she will need to efficiently communicate with Chemotherapy Physicians and NPs, Nurse Manager, and Co-workers as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition, and policy/procedure updates. This nurse should be able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient and unit conditions to ensure safe and quality patient care. This role includes administrative functions, teaching, triage, counseling, supervision, delegation and expertise in administrating chemotherapy medications and treatment as prescribed by accredited physicians/NPs. RN is responsible for initiating the computerized Plan of Care/Standard of Care on admission and caring for that plan. Participates in performance improvement plan of the organization.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Evidence of continuing education is appropriate for skill level and area of practice.
  • At least one year of acute care or medical/surgical nursing.
  • Current RN license in the State of Oregon.
  • ACLS.
  • ONS Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN.
  • Previous Oncology Experience.
  • Oncology Nursing Certification or be prepared to obtain ideally within 3 years of date of hire.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
