About The Position

As a Registered Nurse (RN) joining the team, you will contribute to making communities healthier. The team operates 13 Operating Rooms, typically handling 15-30 cases per day, including General, Bariatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Neurosurgery (craniotomies, stimulators and carpal tunnel), Orthopedic (Total joints, sports medicine, some trauma), Ortho/Neuro Spine, Ear, Nose and Throat, Podiatry, Endoscopy, Interventional Pulmonology, Plastics, Urology, Vascular which includes Endovascular, Oculoplastic and Dental, C-Sections for L&D, and Open Heart. Frye Regional Medical Center is a 355-bed hospital offering acute care, home to various specialized centers, and has been serving the Hickory NC community since 1911, recognized as a High Performing Hospital by U.S. News & World Report.

Requirements

• Current state RN license
• Previous OR exp required
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire

Nice To Haves

• Bachelors degree preferred
• One-year previous experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
