About The Position

This is a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) Charge Nurse Lead position for the Medical and Telemetry unit at Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center. The role involves operational accountability for the nursing unit during a shift, ensuring efficient and effective patient care delivery while adhering to organizational policies and regulatory requirements. The Charge Nurse Lead facilitates collaboration among healthcare professionals, provides clinical oversight and guidance to nursing staff, and fosters the professional growth of the team through coaching and mentoring. They are also responsible for overseeing continuous quality improvement, facilitating communication, managing resources, coordinating emergency response, and advocating for patients and their families. The position requires adherence to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and the ability to provide age-appropriate patient care.

Requirements

Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.
Bachelor's degree in nursing.
Typically requires 5 years of nursing experience.

May be required to take a patient care assignment when required/needed.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
