Registered Nurse RN Certified Diabetes Educator

About The Position
As part of the diabetes educator team at the Diabetes and Endocrinology Center, this Registered Nurse will work collaboratively with other educators and endocrinologists to provide the highest level of patient care and education training in both 1:1 and group settings.
Requirements
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required
- Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse RN in Connecticut
- BLS (AHA/ARC)
- 2 or more years of clinical experience
Nice To Haves
- Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certificate or work towards obtaining it within 2 years of hire.
Responsibilities
- Assist Physicians with managing insulin dose adjustments for patients with all types of diabetes
- Assist with managing a phone triage line for patients with diabetes-related questions
- Teach patients how to use their personal and professional continuous glucose monitors
- Teach patients 1:1 and in groups how to manage their diabetes
- Demonstrates problem solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork
