About The Position

Provides safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care to patients and families using the nursing process to help them attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health. The primary responsibility is accessing central lines, mostly mediports, and drawing labs. The position is based in the Mentor Seidman Ambulatory setting and operates Monday through Friday on a 4(9)s schedule, with one day off; Tuesday or Thursday is offered as an option. There are no weekends or holidays.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of RN experience.
• Diploma in Nursing or an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License, required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), required upon hire.
• Knowledge of the nursing process and practice.
• Ability to use a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies.

Nice To Haves

• Oncology nursing experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
• Master in Nursing (MN).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), which may be required based on the unit's clinical care standards.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), which may be required based on the unit's clinical care standards.

Responsibilities

• Access central lines, mostly mediports, and draw labs.
• Deliver effective, relationship-based nursing care using the nursing process.
• Demonstrate technical skills in care delivery to support safe practice and positive patient outcomes.
• Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively to optimize patient care and clinical operations.
• Develop professionally and contribute to the practice of nursing.
• Display leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
• Safely and securely maintain protected health information (PHI) in accordance with annual training, the UH Code of Conduct, and UH policies and procedures.
