Registered Nurse RN- Cath Lab
About The Position
This position provides direct patient care to adult and geriatric patient populations within the Cardiology, Cardiac Cath Lab department at Prime Healthcare St Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL. The role involves addressing the psychosocial and physical aspects of care related to the surgical environment, continuous communication with physicians about patient condition, and assisting with equipment maintenance and inventory. The Registered Nurse will assess procedure room and equipment readiness, obtain necessary supplies, and monitor physiologic and hemodynamic data during diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures. Continuous monitoring and recording of patient condition while in the Cardiovascular lab are essential. The position also includes participation in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
Requirements
- Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License; required.
- Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current; required.
- One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN); preferred.
Responsibilities

- Assesses procedure room or equipment functioning and readiness.
- Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Cardiovascular Laboratory team are met.
- Monitors physiologic and hemodynamic data, as related to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab.
- Monitors and records patients condition continuously while in the Cardiovascular lab.
- Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
