About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Cath Lab / Interventional Radiology (IR) for a 13-week contract position in Hilo, Hawaii. The RN will work in an Angio Holding area providing pre- and post-procedure nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac, vascular, and interventional radiology procedures. The unit includes seven patient bays and typically staffs three RNs per shift. Candidates should have a strong understanding of diagnostic and interventional cardiology, cardiovascular, and interventional radiology procedures.

Requirements

• Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) License Required by Start of Assignment; License May Be Obtained Upon Acceptance.
• Minimum 2 Years of Nursing Experience in a Pre- and Post-Procedural Setting Required.
• Current BLS/BCLS Certification Required.
• Current ACLS Certification Required.
• Knowledge of Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular, and Interventional Radiology Procedures Required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pre- and post-procedure nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac, vascular, and interventional radiology procedures.
• Assess patients, monitor clinical status, administer medications as ordered, and recognize changes requiring timely nursing intervention.
• Prepare patients for procedures and provide appropriate recovery monitoring, education, discharge instructions, and continuity of care.
• Collaborate with cardiology, vascular, interventional radiology, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate safe procedural care.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation using Epic while following procedural, medication-safety, and patient-care standards.
• The Cath Lab / Interventional Radiology RN will provide skilled pre- and post-procedural nursing care while supporting safe and efficient cardiovascular and interventional services.
