Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiothoracic ICU - PD

Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in a Critical Care Unit (CCU, ICU, CTICU, CVICU, etc.)
- New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
Nice To Haves
- Passion for the CTICU
- Experience with open heart patients a plus
- 1+ years cardiac step-down experience preferred
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
- Will consider Associates Degree if enrolled in an accredited BSN program
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) preferred
Responsibilities
- Recover, assess, monitor, administer medication, document progress, and manage overall care for patients who have undergone open-heart surgery
- Partner with an interdisciplinary team including, but not limited to, attending physicians, registered nurses (RN), and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Cross-train between the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) and the Intermediate Care Unit
- Advocate for and build meaningful relationships with patients and their loved ones through safety intervention, emotional support and education.
