About The Position

Freeman Regional Health Service is looking for individuals to join our growing, team-oriented organization. This position highlights part-time work (1 day per week) and involves coordinating patient care for assigned patients utilizing the nursing process. The role requires the use of the nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating all nursing care provided within the Cardiac and Pulmonary rehab settings. The nurse will demonstrate knowledge of exercise principles and the development of an appropriate exercise/rehab plan based on cardiac and pulmonary rehab patient evaluation and assessment. Ongoing evaluations of patient's compliance and response to therapy, and adjustments to the plan of care accordingly, are essential. The position also involves initiating, providing, or delegating patient/family teaching at a level of expertise and documenting appropriately, noting the recipients’ participation and response including pre-procedure calling and education. The nurse will act as a patient/family advocate and intervene if necessary to ensure that patient care is not compromised. Participation in planning, scheduling, and coordinating patient care is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing - An active license in the state of practice is required upon hire
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years experience working in a clinical or hospital environment
