About The Position

8 Main is a 33-bed acuity adaptable step-down/progressive care unit specializing in Cardiac Care (post-intervention care, dysrhythmias, heart failure, and cardiac conditions requiring monitoring), Renal Transplant (recipients, donors, and transplant rejection), and Vascular Surgery (amputation, revascularization, and bypass). Additionally, we frequently care for patients with other acute medical needs, including DKA, ETOH withdrawal, sepsis, respiratory illnesses, and others. 8Main is a great place to develop or bolster nursing skills, with examples including hi-flow oxygen and respiratory management, management of multiple IV drips, telemetry, peritoneal dialysis, Glucostabilizer tool for continuous insulin drips, and post-PCI care. Teamwork is the driving force for the unit, which has received the AACN Beacon Silver Award for Excellence in Nursing. The Registered Nurse - RN works in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team providing evidence-based medicine and individualized patient care. A Registered Nurse - RN is expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited Nursing school and program
Associate degree in nursing required
Licensed in the State of Michigan
Experience as an RN required
If new grad must apply to RN residency that takes place three times a year in February, July and October.
