About The Position

The UH Cleveland Medical Center Operating Room is seeking Registered Nurses to join their team. The Perioperative Nursing Program is a 15-week full-time paid program designed to train RNs in the scrub and circulating roles within the Operating Room, with the goal of a long-standing career in an OR setting. The program integrates classroom lectures, skill development through mock surgeries, and precepted clinical experiences. Upon successful completion of the program, orientation and training will continue as nurses gain expertise in other clinical OR specialties. The next cohort is scheduled to start on July 13, 2026. The position's brief overview states that it provides safe, efficient, and age-specific nursing care to patients and families using the nursing process to help them achieve, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Nursing or (ADN) Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required)
  • Knowledge of nursing process and practice.
  • Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices).
  • Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)

Nice To Haves

  • (BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
  • (MN) Master in Nursing (Preferred)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
