About The Position

The UMC Cancer Center has a Clinic and Infusion Center that provide care to adult and pediatric patients with non-cancerous, hematology and/or oncology conditions. This role involves a registered professional nurse who assesses, implements or delegates, plans, and evaluates total nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy while providing and directing patient care for a group of patients. The nurse will relate effectively with other departments for optimal continuity of care.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN Experience
  • Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association
  • BSN required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire
  • Completion of ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy required within 90 days.

Nice To Haves

  • Oncology experience preferred
