About The Position

This position is responsible for supporting the needs of the department with a focus on clinical, operational, and administrative excellence. The Registered Nurse will assess patients, plan care, and document findings according to policies. They will oversee and supervise the shift, demonstrating leadership through duties such as delegating tasks like leading groups, close observation, and meal supervision. The RN will also ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed and that exemplary patient care is consistently delivered by themselves and the team. They will monitor patients for changes in condition and respond accordingly, including notifying the physician. The RN will follow hospital policy for medication administration and consistently interact with patients using empathy, dignity, and respect. The role involves the delivery of quality nursing care to ensure treatment plan goals are executed following hospital policies, procedures, and demonstrated nursing competencies. This includes assisting with and performing comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required
  • Current RN license as required by state regulations
  • CPR certification required or obtain within 30 days of hire
  • De-escalation certification required or obtain within 30 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility
  • Direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred
  • Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities

Responsibilities

  • Assess the patient and plan care within set timeframes and document findings according to policies
  • Oversee and supervise the shift
  • Demonstrate leadership through duties that may include delegating tasks such as groups, close observation, meal supervision, etc.
  • Oversee staff to ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed and exemplary patient care is consistently delivered by self and all members of the team
  • Monitor patient for change of condition and respond accordingly up to and including notification of the physician
  • Follow hospital policy for medication administration
  • Consistently use empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients
  • Deliver quality nursing care to ensure that goals of the treatment plan are properly executed following hospital policies and procedures and demonstrated nursing competencies
  • Assist/perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients
