About The Position

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Behavioral Health - Adult Intensive Unit (Males) at Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL. This is a full-time position with a schedule of 3-12 hour shifts from 7a-7:30p, including rotating holidays and weekends. The role involves treating patients, educating them and their families about mental and medical conditions, providing emotional support, running therapeutic groups, psychiatric crisis intervention, and managing seclusion and restraint. RNs also record medical histories, operate medical machinery, administer treatments and medications, and assist with patient follow-up and rehabilitation.

Requirements

Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards
Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units
Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care
