About The Position

Collin Springs Behavioral Health Hospital in Frisco, Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Outpatient Services department. This PRN position is part of Lifepoint Health, a healthcare network committed to employee well-being and community health. Requirements

  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Associate’s degree in nursing required.
  • Current Registered Nurse license as required by state regulations in which the facility operates.
  • CPR certification is required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
  • De-escalation certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-year experience in a psychiatric health care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing specialized plan-of-care intervention and serving as a patient-care innovator.
  • Shaping exceptional patient journeys every day and leveraging skills and technology to directly impact patient wellbeing.
  • Supporting the needs of the department with a focus on clinical, operational, and administrative excellence.
  • Accurately performing patient assessments and identifying patient needs.
  • Identifying and initiating appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Providing care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
  • Performing timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
  • Performing timely and accurate QI assessments.
  • Assessing the patient and planning care within set timeframes and documenting findings according to policies.
  • Overseeing and supervising the shift.
  • Demonstrating leadership through duties that may include delegating tasks such as groups, close observation, meal supervision, etc.
  • Overseeing staff to ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed and exemplary patient care is consistently delivered by self and all members of the team.
  • Monitoring patient for change of condition and responding accordingly up to and including notification of the physician.
  • Following hospital policy for medication administration.
  • Consistently using empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients.
  • Delivering quality nursing care to ensure that goals of the treatment plan are properly executed following hospital policies and procedures and demonstrated nursing competencies.
  • Assisting/performing comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients.
