About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) – Bariatric ICU. This is a Full Time position with night shifts, working 3x12 shifts (7p-7a) rotating weekends. Up to $10,000 Sign On Bonus for Eligible Candidates. Our Bariatric ICU team partners closely with the Kentucky Bariatric Institute to provide specialized, compassionate care throughout the patient journey—from pre-operative preparation to post-operative recovery. Team members have the unique opportunity to care for a diverse patient population, collaborate with highly skilled multidisciplinary providers, and play a vital role in helping patients achieve life-changing outcomes.

Requirements

  • Current Kentucky or compact state RN license
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school
  • Associate's Degree Required
  • Current RN to practice in the state of KY
  • Certifications: BCLS

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
