Requirements

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• PALS 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Moderate Sedation competency completed within 30 days upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• Previous acute care hospital experience; preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice in the Out Patient Services setting.
• Communicates with physicians, / Director of Surgical Services, House Supervisor and co-workers, as appropriate about changes in the patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
• Coordinates the care of the patient with the surgeon and/or anesthesiologist, directs and guides and other personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Out Patient Department.
• Works with other departments and co-workers to provide quality patient care across the continuum, efficient patient flow and unit maintenance and organization.
• Responsible for adherence to regulations, standards and hospital or unit policies and procedures.
• Responsible for participation in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings and in-services.
• Acts as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.
