This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in an Ambulatory Pre/Post-Op setting, working day shifts. The position is at a brand new ambulatory surgery center located in the VCU Short Pump Pavilion, offering Monday-Friday day shift hours with no holidays, weekends, or call requirements. The Ambulatory Surgery Center provides outpatient surgical services that do not necessitate an overnight hospital stay. Specialties include Orthopedics, Urology, Plastics, Gynecology, Surgical Oncology, Colon and Rectal, and Ear, Nose, and Throat. Patients benefit from the latest techniques, including minimally invasive, diagnostic, and preventative procedures, allowing for safe and comfortable recovery at home. The Clinical Nurse I job integrates technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet patient and family needs, assists the healthcare team with illness/injury prevention, wellness maintenance, and comfort provision. This role provides direction, education, and begins to develop leadership skills at the unit level. It involves delivering and documenting direct, age-specific care based on medical orders and a multidisciplinary plan, and safely administering medications while identifying incompatibilities/interactions. The Clinical Nurse II job demonstrates mastery of clinical skills and applies this knowledge to a specific patient population. It assists the healthcare team with illness/injury prevention, wellness maintenance, and comfort provision. This role recognizes and intervenes in changing patient situations, mobilizes resources for individualized patient/family needs, provides direction, education, and assumes leadership responsibilities at the unit level. It involves delivering and documenting direct, age-specific care based on medical orders and a multidisciplinary plan, and safely administering medications while identifying incompatibilities/interactions. The Clinical Nurse III job demonstrates clinical knowledge at the unit level and applies this knowledge to a specific patient population. It assists the healthcare team with illness/injury prevention, wellness maintenance, and comfort provision. This role anticipates and intervenes in changing patient situations, provides direction, education, and serves as a role model in a clinical setting.
