Provides and coordinates nursing care in a non-acute ambulatory, medical office, or urgent care setting in accordance with the State Board of Nursing, Nurse Practice Act, professional standards of care, state regulations, accreditation standards and Prisma Health’s philosophy, policies and procedures. This position is bonus eligible. The Registered Nurse utilizes the unique knowledge, skills, and competencies required in ambulatory care nursing practice to promote wellness, restore health, and address health-related situational problems. They assess patients’ needs and apply current ambulatory care nursing knowledge and evidence-based nursing practice when developing an individualized plan of care for each patient. The role involves administering prescribed medications and treatments, coordinating and documenting patient care, and delegating tasks to healthcare team members. Patient and family education is integrated throughout the delivery of care to enable informed health-related decisions. The nurse provides a compassionate and therapeutic environment, serves as a role model, and participates in educating and mentoring other care team members. They attend department and organization meetings, complete compliance training, and practice safe, efficient use of supplies and resources. Maintaining a clean, safe, and caring environment is essential. The nurse assumes responsibility for their own professional development and continuing education. This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
